Your Privacy is my main and only concern. You will be covered at all times. Only the body part that is being worked will be exposed. If at anytime you feel uncomfortable please let me know.
Please arrive or be ready 10 mins before your session start time to allow for any paperwork.
On your first visit, a health assessment will done to identify any problems you are experiencing, any medications you are taking and to evaluate your overall health.
We will decide which service is best for you and I will explain how the session will progress. After the session we will discuss what the plan is for the next session and get your next appointment set-up at that time.
Your session will be for the full 60 mins not 50 mins as most spas do.
All oils, lotions and scrubs used are organic, as they are better for you as well at me.
In the event you are sick with a cold, have a viral or bacterial infection and are being treated, or if you are actively coughing/sneezing, it is highly recommended you avoid massage therapy until you feel better. The reason for this is that massage therapy affects the lymphatic system and if your body is already fighting, the increased movement of lymph circulation that occurs with massage will add additional stress to an already compromised immune system. If you are taking any medication for pain, it is important that you inform your therapist prior to starting the massage as your pain threshold will be altered so she may need to adjust the amount of pressure she applies. If possible, it is best to avoid taking pain medication 2-3 hours prior to the session. If you are ever unsure as to whether or not a condition you have warrants a massage, it is best to contact your therapist before coming in so she could help you decide if it would be beneficial or more harmful to you and your recovery.
Draping is required, is never optional and is always maintained. You will be asked to take off clothing specific to the extremities to be addressed. Only the area of the body being worked on will be exposed, all other areas will be covered with a sheet/blanket. Your therapist will strive to promote a professional standard of practice throughout the session and will attempt to control all aspects of the environment so you feel safe, comfortable and at ease during your treatment.
Each session is customized for your specific needs. You are encouraged to provide feedback during the session regarding pressure, overall comfort level, temperature of table and room. The therapist often incorporates some degree of passive stretching in each session so if you have any known restrictions with regard to range of motion it is important to convey this at the beginning of the session. Remember, when you are most at ease is when the profound benefits of massage will be achieved.
